Empingated Midi Button-Up

In collaboration with world renowned artist Carlos Luna, the Empingated Midi Button-Up brings the powerful themes of life, death, and the human struggle for survival to life. The artwork on this garment is directly taken from Luna’s work Empingated, which depicts an anthropomorphic man in a jungle of life experiences, facing his own mortality. As death reaches out with an embrace, the man hides a knife, hoping to fight against the inevitable. The cyclical nature of life and death is symbolized by the phrases “La Vida” (Life) and “La Muerte” (Death). The design also includes the anglicized Cuban explicative “Pinga,” highlighting the intensity of this existential conflict. This piece is a striking reminder of our shared mortality and the complex forces at play in our lives.

Made from a Cotton Spandex blend, the Empingated Midi Button-Up offers a soft, comfortable feel with just the right amount of stretch for a flattering fit. The natural fibers provide breathability and durability, ensuring comfort throughout the day while retaining its shape and form.
